Smart Saver Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

IndieGenius™ Development Studios (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Smart Saver Android application. We respect your privacy and are deeply committed to protecting your personal data. This policy outlines our data processing practices, highlighting our strict privacy-by-design architecture.

2. The “No Notification Access” Promise

Unlike many competing applications, Smart Saver does NOT request or require Notification Listener access. We deliberately exclude features like “Deleted Chat Recovery” to ensure your private chats and incoming notifications remain completely inaccessible to our app.

3. Data Collection and Usage

• Local Media Storage: All statuses (images and videos) you view or save are processed and stored strictly locally on your device using a Room database for metadata and SharedPreferences for app preferences. We do not transmit, upload, or store your media on external servers.
• Personal Data: We currently do not require you to create an account, nor do we collect identifiable information such as your name, email, or phone number for basic app usage.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging: We store FCM tokens locally to enable push notifications for app updates, new features, and marketing messages. Tokens are automatically refreshed and stored securely on your device.
• Firebase Remote Config: We use Remote Config to dynamically update app settings like ad placement intervals and feature configurations without requiring app updates. This data is downloaded from Firebase servers and stored locally.

4. Advertising and Third-Party Mediation

To support the free version of our app, we use third-party advertising networks. We utilize Google AdMob Mediation with User Messaging Platform (UMP)for GDPR compliance, which routes ad requests to multiple partner networks to provide relevant advertising. Our current mediation partners include:

• Google AdMob
• Meta (Facebook) Audience Network (v6.21.0.1)
• AppLovin MAX (v13.6.1.0)
• Unity Ads (v4.17.0.0)

These third-party networks may use cookies, device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID), and other tracking technologies to collect non-personal data (e.g., coarse location, device type, app usage) to serve personalized ads. The AppLovin SDK is integrated for enhanced ad mediation capabilities. You can opt-out of personalized advertising at any time via your Android device settings (Settings > Google > Ads > Delete advertising ID) or through the UMP consent form within the app.

5. Analytics & Performance Tracking

To understand how our app is used and to improve performance (such as tracking crash reports, daily active users, and uninstall rates), we use Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, and Firebase Performance Monitoring. Firebase collects aggregated, anonymized data tied to a unique instance ID, not your personal identity. This helps us build a better, more stable app without compromising your privacy.

• Firebase Analytics: Tracks user engagement, app usage patterns, and conversion events
• Firebase Crashlytics: Collects crash reports and stability data (disabled in debug builds)
• Firebase Performance Monitoring: Monitors app startup time, screen rendering performance, and network latency
• Firebase Remote Config: Enables dynamic configuration updates without app releases

6. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

We offer an optional Premium Tier (e.g., ₹19/mo or ₹149/yr) to remove ads and unlock features like Auto Status Download. All payment processing is securely handled by Google Play Billing. IndieGenius™ Development Studios does not collect, process, or store your credit card details or financial information.

7. Push Notifications

Smart Saver uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to send push notifications for important app updates, new features, and occasional marketing messages. We automatically subscribe you to the following notification topics:

• app_updates: Critical app updates and maintenance notifications
• new_features: Announcements about new features and improvements
• all_users: General communications and marketing messages

FCM tokens are stored locally on your device and are used solely for delivering these notifications. You can disable notifications in your device settings or through the app's notification preferences.

8. Data Storage and Retention

Smart Saver follows a strict local-first data storage architecture:

• Room Database: Stores metadata for saved statuses locally on your device
• SharedPreferences: Stores app preferences, settings, and FCM tokens
• No Cloud Storage: Your media files (images/videos) are never uploaded to our servers
• Data Retention: Local data is retained until you manually uninstall the app or clear app data
• Automatic Cleanup: Temporary cache files are automatically managed by the system

9. Future Features and Voluntary Account Data

While no account is currently required to use Smart Saver, we may introduce features in the future that require voluntary authentication (such as Google Login) to facilitate referral programs, reward distribution, or cross-device premium unlocks. If such features are implemented, we will request explicit consent before accessing any basic profile information (such as your email address), and this data will be used strictly to provide the requested service.

10. App Permissions Explained

Smart Saver requires the following minimal permissions solely for core functionality:

• Storage / Media Access: Required strictly to read temporary social media status files and save your selected media to your gallery.
• Internet / Network Access: Required for serving advertisements (via mediation partners), Firebase services, and dynamic configuration updates.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+): Required to display push notifications for app updates, new features, and marketing messages.
• AD_ID: Used only for advertising purposes to serve personalized ads through our mediation partners. This permission is optional and can be disabled in device settings.
